About the Program
This 2-week summer day program for youth aged 6-9 years old is all about self-discovery, staying active having fun and connecting with our Ismaili brothers and sisters. Through an activity-based curriculum participants will have an opportunity to learn through play, sports, and arts and will create strong friendships and memories. Camps are held in each region (BC, Edmonton, Prairies, Ontario, Ottawa, Quebec/Maritimes).
About the Role
  • Work with a small team to develop elements of the curriculum, in alignment with the Youth Journey Model for Camps and Summer Programs
  • Coordinate with regional Camps members and Camp Discovery Directors to ensure that venues, supplies, staff and training are all planned and executed with efficiency
  • Collect data and budgets and consolidate in one document for National data collection
  • Connect with ITREB, Health Board, Education Board, Arts & Culture Board, and Social Welfare Board contacts, as needed to provide input on curriculum and ensure that all youth have access to the Camp
  • Ensure that evaluation of programs are completed within a timely manner (before August 31, 2021)
  • Report and communicate regularly with National AKYSB Camps and Summer Programs Member
  • Time commitment per week will vary, with more commitment hours closer to the Camp dates (summer), but preparation and being proactive can reduce that time
About You
  • Must hold a university degree or college diploma
  • Have project management experience
  • Be familiar with AKYSB camps/summer programs or equivalent
  • Be available to connect via email and conference call with members across the country
  • Having a background with this age group or in education is a plus (can give input for curriculum and training)

Time Commitment
  • 3 hours/week
  • Starting immediately to 31 August 2021
