About the Program
BUI has a storied history in Canada. Throughout the decades, it has evolved into a dynamic and vibrant community hub, where learning is at the centre. Students and teachers engage with each other in learning experiences ground in the IIS Primary Curriculum with the aim of understanding their individual and collective identities, actively making-meaning and articulating these understandings, and taking ethical action for themselves, the community, and society at large. BUI is an approach to life; though learning flourishes at our centres, it is lived everywhere.

About the Role
In the current context, Primary teachers may have virtual and face-to-face teaching responsibilities. Both modalities offer a range of volunteer opportunities, fully supported by a multitude of professional development offerings.
Primary teachers should demonstrate commitment through regular, timely attendance at classes and PD sessions. Learning experiences should be prepared in advance to achieve optimal outcomes for students. These experiences will be rooted in the IIS curriculum, driven by a wealth of prepared lesson resources, and supported by Teacher Mentors. Above all, Primary teachers will express care and support of students and families in all forums and under all circumstances.
