About the Program
The objectives of the Social Media Lead for Ismaili Centre, Toronto will be to:

· Establish\increase authentic and lasting brand awareness
· Grow the audience base, increasing penetration within the Ismaili Community and beyond
· Establish the Ismaili Centre as a recognized platform for civil society dialogue, thought leadership & knowledge- sharing
· Increase the understanding of the values, ethics, culture and heritage of Ismaili Muslims, and of the work of the Aga Khan Development Network
· Increase engagement to drive attendance to events at the Ismaili Centre
· Establish audience for long-term virtual engagement (beyond in-person engagement)
· Longer term, promote the Ismaili Centre as a venue for private hire functions, showcasing the campus (Aga Khan Park, Aga Khan Museum, and Ismaili Centre)

About the Role
Amongst several responsibilities\ tasks, the role will have a particular focus on the execution of the media strategy which includes:

· Work with the Social Media Coordinator to implement and maintain a system for developing social media content, keeping in mind key messages and content as outlined in the Social Media Strategy
· Offer support\back up and counsel to the social media coordinator, in the execution of their responsibilities to:
· Develop the content calendar, including briefing graphic designers as required
· Funnel the content calendar to Ontario Comms for approval and adjusting content as per feedback received
· Schedule posting leveraging Social Media management tool, Buffer
· Ensure that content created for social media platforms is in alignment with the requirements of the Global and Canada communication policies
· Evaluate additional social media platforms (e.g. Twitter, LinkedIn, Podcasts) and develop and execute
approved implementation plans

About You
Skills and aptitudes required include:

· Experience working with social media platforms
· Sensitivity to the issues and concerns related to the Imamat, the Ismaili community and its institutions
· Deep sense of responsibility, sound judgement and discretion – including a demonstrated ability of
handling and maintaining confidential information
· Good inter-personal skills in dealing with senior leaders and volunteers
· Ability to mentor and encourage a team to achieve long-term goals
· Capacity to be effective through collaboration and teamwork
· Well-organized, self-motivated, able to multi-task, pays attention to detail, a “can do” attitude and a
problem-solving mindset
· Ability to think strategically in advancing the goals of the Ismaili Centre, Toronto

  • 8 hours/week
  • 27 July 2020 to 31 December 2021
