About the Program
The Social Media Content Specialist, Canada would be responsible for creating and publishing social media content and overseeing a national content schedule. The individual would contribute to the National Social Media Team striving to meet the following objectives:

(1) Engage and provide information to members of the Canadian Jamat to help improve their quality of life and build a strong sense of community identity

(2) Enhance awareness amongst the Jamat and broader community of Imamat initiatives and help correct misperceptions of the faith

(3) Ensure that social media communications protect and uphold the dignity of the Imamat and its institutions

About the Role
The individual would be responsible for:

  • Drafting and refining engaging social media copy and publishing final content
  • Managing a social media content calendar
  • Collaborating with various institutional boards and portfolios to review and publish content
  • Implementing and maintaining a system for developing social media content, keeping in mind key messages of the institutions
  • Supporting regional social media teams with ongoing content and sharing of best practices
  • Contributing to the development and execution of various social media campaigns

About You
Skills and aptitudes required include:

  • Social media content writing experience
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Experience with social media platform management (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Good inter-personal skills in dealing with senior leaders and volunteers
  • Capacity to be effective through collaboration and teamwork
  • Well-organized, self-motivated, able to multi-task, pays attention to detail, a “can do” attitude and a problem-solving mindset
