About the Program
The Aga Khan Youth and Sports Board for Ontario is pleased to launch the inaugural Boy’s Mentorship program. This program aims to support boys and youth within our Jamat between the ages of 13-18. Mentorship will be fully virtual for the inaugural year and will consist of positive relationship building, academic or professional guidance, and provision of additional support. Mentorship will be provided to mentees in the forms of e-mentoring, team mentoring, and one-on-one. Throughout the year various events and workshops will be organized to motivate, inspire, and encourage the young people within their interests and passions. 
About the Role
The Communication Lead will be responsible for helping and promoting the Boy’s Mentorship brand to gain exposure in regional social media. Communications Leads will work with the case managers in defining key performance indicators for each communications channel. The role will also include determining strategic communications plans that will help further program goals and increase retention of mentees and mentors. Overseeing the creation of marketing materials for distribution on various social media platforms and collaborating with other Communications members on AKYSBO will also be a responsibility to ensure that it is consistent with the program's brand.
About You
The Communication Lead must have experience in social media marketing and communications. Have organizational and project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines. The Lead must be able to think analytically and strategically and be capable of working well as part of a team as well as independently. They must have experience in multitasking and capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects with different deadlines. Applicants who are bilingual in any language other than English are particularly encouraged to apply.
Time Commitment
  • 5 hours/week
  • On-going position starting on 2 October 2020
