About the Program
Generations is a multi-generational housing community in Calgary launched during His Highness the Aga Khan’s Golden Jubilee. Phase one, comprising affordable housing for independent seniors, and phase two, comprising residential care for seniors who require long-term care (LTC) or supported living level 4 (SL4) is currently operational with an early childhood development center (ECD) planned for an opening in the near future. Phase three, the final phase, was envisioned to target residential units for families.
About the Role
Working under the aegis of the Strategic Plan Operationalization Committee (SPOC), led by the chairman of the board, a volunteer is being sought to establish and manage a project management office, for a term up to 18 months. This individual will help drive the operationalization and implementation of one of the several key goals in the recently approved strategic plan for Generations: Build infrastructure to drive exemplary care and joyful living. This goal is broken down into four initiatives: best practices rollout, volunteer support model, building an intergenerational framework, and pursuing exemplary accreditation.

About You
The  SPOC is looking for an applicant with the following skill set:
-       Experience with managing multiple stakeholders / projects
-       Project Management experience
-       Well versed in Microsoft Project and Excel
-       Ability to develop work break down structures and project plans
-       Strong organizational skills 
-       Problem solving skills
-       Able to anticipate and manage issues and risks

Experience working with volunteer (Jamati and/or External) boards and committees, and familiarity with elder care institutions would be an asset.
Time Commitment
  • 10 hours/week
  • On-going position starting immediately
