About the Role
The Associate Director for Volunteer Resource Management (AD VRM) will be responsible for supporting the Council for Edmonton's implementation and utilization of the Volunteer Life Cycle. 

The Volunteer Life Cycle includes: Needs Assessment, Recruitment, Placement & Orientation, Training, Recognition and Off-Boarding. The AD VRM will be the main trainer and support for the various HR Leads who are working directly with the boards and portfolio. 

  • Reports directly to the Director for Volunteer Resource Management and the Member for Ismaili Volunteers.
  • Ensures that recruitment methods are being used hand in hand by HR Liaisons.
  • Maintains strong communication with the Team.
  • Develops HR plans in conjunctions with Boards and Portfolios and supports the HR Liaison with large scale events & initiatives.
  • Develops orientations packages for the Board and Portfolio.
  • Ensures volunteer screening within the region adheres to national policy.

The applicant should possess the following skills/qualifications:
  • Effective leadership, communication and time-management skills
  • Good interpersonal skills 
  • Demonstrates a high level of discretion, transparency, sensitivity, and compassion 
  • Ability to organize, multi-task and to work well under pressure 
  • Ability to remain calm and adapt to last minute changes
  • Ability to organize and manage training requests
Time Commitment
  • 8 hours/week
  • 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021
