About the Program
The Future Ready Initiative (FRI) is an institutional response to changes facing the Jamat in Canada, and those with whom the Jamat lives.  
The Program responds to four inter-related needs within the Jamat:  
1. Family Mentorship;  
2. Future of Work;  
3. Mental health; and  
4. Youth mentorship and leadership development.

Family Mentorship Program is designed to empower families with assistance from trained professionals to identify goals, develop a plan and, carve out a path for the individuals/families to enable them to achieve their goals.  
About the Role
The Local Mentor Lead (LML) is a leadership and management role. LML will be responsible for recruitment, compliance and guidance for family mentors in their region. LML is NOT a family facing role and at no point LML will be interacting with families directly. LML will be responsible for the following: 
  1. Recruitment of the Family Mentors (FM). This will involve shortlisting candidates, scheduling FM interviews with all stakeholders (Mentor Lead, Local Council Member - FRI) and finalizing the onboarding process as well as updating the Family Mentor List. 
  2. Compliance; Ensuring all FM have completed their confidentiality agreement and Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) in coordination with Volunteer Management Team (VMT) and keep it updated on Family Mentor List. 
  3. Co-ordinate training for all Family Mentors. Providing information of the upcoming training sessions and track attendance in coordination with ML and Learning & Development Team as well as ensuring training modules and other relevant documents are available / updated on Teams.  
  4. Identifying any additional training needs and facilitates additional training as required 
  5. Communicate regularly with the Family Mentors and identify gaps in current processes or services to support the work of Family mentors. 
  6. Navigate and assist Family Mentors with obtaining timely response from other boards and portfolios in their region. 
  7. Escalate any challenges and issues to Mentor Lead/LCM

Time Commitment
  • 4 hours/week
